    MARY A. FRAIM
    NEWTON - Mary Agnes “Polly” Fraim, 84, of the Abernethy Center, died unexpectedly, Monday, March 8, 2004, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
    Born July 28, 1919, in Madison, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Truxton Burl and Ada Truax.

    Loving flowers and plants all her life, she was proud to be a founding member of Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens and a member of the Alder Springs Herb Growers Garden Club. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newton. She was a loving and creative homemaker for her husband and children.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Albert Fraim, her son, Larry Fraim, and a sister, Jacque MacKenzie.

    Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Judee and Jim Edmonds of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Adams and her husband, Brad, of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Col. Betty McCormack of Newton Square, Pa.; a brother, Bruce Truax of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Randy Maskell, Tim and Jeremy Fraim, and Ryan, Kyle and Emily Adams; and great-granddaughters, Kailee Maskell, Ella Maskell and Cora Fraim.

    The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2004, at Spirit Place at the Abernethy Center. The Revs. Fred Thompson and Randy Cowan will officiate and burial will be in the Abernethy Memorial Gardens.

    The family will receive friends following the service.

    Polly was an incredible person who will be missed by everyone privileged to know her. Her generous, giving nature and courage in the midst of adversity were always an inspiration for others.
